Support/Comments for Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0-beta 3

Try download the 1.4.0 Beta 4 in the second post of this thread.
You don’t have to run the installer.
Just replace the existing files of 1.4.0. Beta 3.

I had not had this installed before, so I used the version you mentioned. It looks like it expects to see jquery 1.4 in assets/libs/jquery. Was that put there by an earlier version, because I don’t see it on my default Evo 1.0.3 local install. Unless, of course, I goofed somewhere.

Thanks for the example and your help! I’ll go looking for jquery-1.4.2.min.js. That’s what I’m assuming is causing my problem...

BTW, the reason the galleria version worked is that it has a version of the jquery file in it’s folder...

Putting jquery-1.4.2.min.js in the expected folder seems to have done the trick! (Funny how that works ...)

This I need for some other parts, which make string length and substring with normal string functions.
But I think this can be expected to be normal setting for multilingual utf8 support.

As this becomes the best gallery for modx may be you check GalleryView

It is comparable to gallerific and I personally prefer the way it is controlled and the way its layout is done.

In 1-2 weeks (if gallerific doesn’t fit to the requirements) I probably would need to integrate GalleryView with easy2.
If you think this is good idea, I can try to do it as "slideshow module"

Some more info related to mbstring:
using mbstring.func_overload = 2 breaks zip uploading
so, I was forced to go back to mbstring.func_overload = 0 and to adjust parts of other code
in addition non latin folder names break the zip as well.

Related to this, one proposal - what about to add "name" to the folder (gallery) like we have with the image?
This way the folders can be kept with latin letters and the name of the gallery can be whatever needed.

And one more idea (Am I too aggressive with the ideas ?) - why not to add one more column to the gallery grid to be able to show folder/file name and gallery/image name?

You can try to fix that unZIPing non-latin filenames that I’ve make (which even I do not feel comfortable with) at the line 109-127 of e2g.module.class.php

This has been crossed in my mind.
Adding this manually is quite easy, but I need also to be careful on adding new field into the upgrading process.

All ideas are welcome.

I had gotten it to work with MaxiGallery but haven’t gone further with it (ie. to make the tags accessible by other MODx snippets for categorization, etc.)
