Support/Comments for FormBuilder 1.0-rc1

I will look into this. Probably would be an easy switch. I also have been pondering this move.

Answer to Question 2: I found a bug in the javascript, well not a bug but extraneous code.
Remove the following line from the Javascript:

onSuccess	: function() { console.log('Success!'); },

as edited: i got it working... just forgot to set the scope id in the fb_script

I also removed:

verify(); return false;

I will clean up my sloppy code for the next version. I will probably leave in the div container or use a p tag to wrap form elements. (I don’t like using br tags for formatting).

Something like this:

But What does the HTML before and after field do in the advanced options? When I enter something like <div> </div> the labels vanish...

Some suggestions:

A killer feature would be to be able to set radio, checkboxes and lists the default selected item (selected="selected" or checked="checked"). - Something along that would be also be able to disable a field ( disabled="disabled"), but don’t know if that makes sense.

That brings me to the next killer feature. Can you make it so, that whatever type is selected, the options change according to that type. for example a text type would not display the options field. etc.

What about maxlength of a field?

I’ve looked at the generated tables. Why is the collation set to "latin1_swedish_ci" and not "utf8_general_ci" like the database default? Would that somehow be possible to change via the module sql script?

I updated the readme.txt file.

Special note on syntax:
There are two special tags available <+for+> and <+label+>
This allows custom formatting for those who don’t like the default format.



Your suggestions are good and wouldn’t be hard to implement. I will work on these suggestions for next release.

New Release Today RC4

Added maxlength for text and textarea fields.
-maxlength can be used to set the textarea cols and rows (example 28|10)

When I run the module I receive the following errors:

What would cause this? I triple checked the instructions, I triple checked the paths. I’m not familiar with modules either (this is my very first one) am I supposed to link the function.php as a dependency, so I link the snippets as well?

I am running rc4 and I noticed a call to function.php in your readme instructions you said to create a resource called functions.php with the letter S on the end. So I changed my resource to function.php to match the call from the module’s code (I think that’s how it works but I just learning php so I don’t know). Just as an FYI, it maybe unrelated I was just trying to figure out the problem on my own, but I’ve tried everything including deleting module and reinstalling.

I truly appreciate your efforts and I’m excited to get this working as it’s exactly what I need to allow users to create and tweak forms.

Again forgive me if the solution is obvious as I’m very much a Modx, php, mysql newbie (but I’m reading and learning)

HA! Never mind I figured it out. My host doesn’t like php files and didn’t allow me to upload it through the Modx file manager. I manually uploaded it and it appears to be working now. Again thank you for your efforts. I will play around with it tonight.
