I removed the old module and started over again with version 1.4.0 Beta 1.
The installation was well described and easy to handle.

Somehow it will not create the thumbs. I checked that using Firebug and saw the thumbs in the ’./assets/gallery/_thumbnails’ folder were missing and the folder was empty. Let me explain how the _thumbnail folder works:
1. It will be created on the first installation.
2. Each time the snippet asks about the thumbnail in its call, then it will start check whether the _thumbnail folder exists or not. If NOT, it will create it first. After that, it’ll create small picture from the original one with your default config sizes or snippet’s call parameters, and put that inside _thumbnail folder.

There were some reasons of bug existence while I switched the way this module should handle the filenames, which deleted the _thumbnail folder. But I believe I’ve already hunt it down.
Well, just for quick resolving, if each time you find it again, just run the snippet again. It will then create the blank _thumbnails folder again.

Technically speaking, I use __construct in Module class that will ALWAYS create _thumbnails folder if it does not exist.
So, logically, the _thumbnails folder will be checked each time you run the Module also.

Yes, that’s what I want too. In my case, my photographer gave me many wrong position pictures, and it was a nightmare since I had to replace the files in the live site. That’s why I switched it.
Although, this also brings more challenge since I need to fix the UTF-8 filenames issue.

i’ve done many testing before I publish it, and I guess I’ve passed the _thumbnails folder issue. If you get it again, please post what have you done before, and what text it occurs.

I checked everything again and also I checked the snippet call. Since there were a few parameters used in it, I set it back to the minimum required call and cleared the cache thereafter.
After that, it worked good and I could even delete the thumbnails which were freshly created at the next gallery call!

I’ve just installed 1.4 beta 2 in MODx 1.0.3. I get the following errors in the module:


The module still works (can’t get slimbox to work but I suspect this is JS conflict).

Now, during testing, I ran into a new error:

If you change picture caption and description using edit, the image entry vanishes from the folder and turns into a red marked entry. After the next synchro, the picture vanishes in the gallery repository (and most proably in the db). The physical image is still in the server folder but the connection seems to be lost.

By refreshing the gallery page afterwards you get:




Any ideas?

Actually I don’t know why, since I continuously update this module, and I always debuged these kind of things.
From the code I’m holding right now, I don’t get this.

I’m about to release the 1.4.0 Beta 3.
But it seems I need to test this in my test site tomorrow first.
Be patient, guys.

Module side. Put images in a folder to manage a gallery. It is inconsistently doing it and this is in 1.0.3 if that makes a difference. For now I switched back to MaxiGallery but will try again fresh when the next version comes out. Thanks for the spectacular work and effort.

Today, I tried Beta 3 and the error seems to be solved. I can edit and change the descriptions now without getting any errors! That’s great.
