Thanks for a great snippet! I’m using it on my testsite (it will be official in the next few months).

But i wonder: how can I set the number of Recent Post? As it is now it shows all, but I only want to show the last 5.

My snippet-call is :

[[SMFssi? &ssi=ssi_recentPosts]]

There no way to change number of topics with the snippet sorry.

but you can simply edit SSI.php inside your SMF directory.

IE for ssi_recentTopics:

find line 324 in SSI.php



change $num_recent = 8 to the number you need

To pass parameters to the function:
change the line in the snippet SMFssi:
return $ssi(); with return $ssi($param) ;
To know the parameters, see the smf SSI.php file, for recentTopics:
function ssi_recentTopics($num_recent = 8, $exclude_boards = null, $output_method = ’echo’)

so to display 3 recent topics the call is:
[[SMFssi? &ssi=`ssi_recentTopicss` &param=`3`]]

I’ve installed this snippet to replace this code.

I’ve made the changes suggested to SMF/forum/sources/load.

When checked ’execute file after saving’ (should I do that?), and I receve the following error within the manager:

Dispite the error notice, the code seems to work with the existing SSI functions I had in place (after I’d altered the calls to suit). However, I still have the same problem I had with the old code: I cannot get the logout function to work. The session ID it uses is incorrect - I cannot code, so have no idea of how to fix it.

Any ideas as to the solution?

Just got notification of SMF discontinuing (and deleting) their Joomla bridge due to a conflict with Joomla’s GPL license. Does this apply to MODx as well?

Considering that SimpleMachines has not published and is not distributing a modx bridge this is not an issue.

A modx bridge (If you want to call it that) does exists but it’s developed by modx users and is available in the repository.

I have installed SMF 1.14 and SMFssi, I have modified the load.php file but
when i put the SMFssi snippet in a doc, the page shows nothing, it becomes a blank page.
please help me to solve it,
