Well this topic was started for people who do need it and are frustrated by the lack of support from developers who obviously don’t have a clue either.

        Thanks for your comments.

Developers that dont have a clue !!!!!!!!!!!!

You really are on another planet and this sort of attitude will not encourage people to even think about helping you shocked

You don’t even want to try to look at the replacements for both Ditto and Jot ?
Even if the replacements are better and actively supported and updated ?

It’s not like there are no substitution solution, it’s just that you don’t want to do any effort and act like a spoiled child.

                modxjr1,

Calling people names is a great way to ensure people will not be helpful. In fact you are violating the terms of use for the forums, which is grounds for being banned. The forum rules can be summed up as "be respectful and don’t be a jerk". Your sarcasm may in fact mask respect—but it’s not translating if any exists at all—so I’d politely ask you to stop. It’s perfectly OK to be disappointed by a lack of an automatic upgrade path for an abandoned Add-on for our classic code base (I’d probably be disappointed in your shoes too). It’s not OK to respond how you’re responding.

As far as a direct answer to your question on Ditto/Jot migration, I’d say the best option is to "archive" the existing posts and close down the comments. Copy the HTML/CSS out of the existing site and bolt it on the existing post resources. Then for all new posts that need comments, use GetResources and Quip. Unless someone from the community ports Jot, which was originally created by a community member in the first place, it’s not likely to happen from the full time MODX development team. We’ll be happy to provide you a quote to do this, but it will likely cost 10x or more what "a customer who paid me several hundreds of dollars" to investigate, plan and engineer. Sticking with Evo is also a very valid strategy, as Evo is being maintained.

Manually archiving older posts and closing down comments is the exact strategy we took on the modx.com site itself.
