ShopX is a few snippets/chunks/templates. Just shows how flexible the system can be. wink

ShopX is at present simply a plugin and snippet for a shopping cart, and another snippet with a bunch of TVs for checkout. It uses the document tree structure for a catalog, and is displayed with the NewsListing snippet. The TVs and the checkout snippet are very modular, you can easily modify it for whatever you want, tax calculations, add shipping methods and payment methods, etc. It hasn’t been tied into the user system yet, it uses the SESSION to maintain cart and checkout shipping/payment method data.

I mainly did this as a demonstration of what could be done using the existing MODx structure. You can see it demonstrated at http://www.sottwell.com/shop

I’m working on a fork of oscommerce that will integrate with MODx.

        Would that be ZenCart ?

I believe that ZenCart is not OScom related.
From what I have seen of OpenSource ecom systems.. I like Zen best.
Seems that although not as large a system/community as OScom.. it is clean and fast and feature rich.
I have been watching many ecom systems for sometime now trying to come up with what I will use to replace my proprietory piece of crap wink

So I guess.. that I may just want to wait on replacing my ecom system if there will be a native ModX system.
In the meantime I think that I will start developing the next edition of my flagship site with ModX.

Looks like a hot system.. can’t wait to get into it hardcore!

Zen-Cart definitely spun out of osC. Carsten and I were part of the very early second wave of team members.

You should expect to see a lot more on this front in the future I’d imagine. It makes too much sense wink.
