    TinyMCE has a parameter called "extended_valid_elements" which apparently lets you customize the internal filters.

    http://www.learnwebdesignonline.com/tutorials/allow-script-iframe-tinymce has instructions for Joomla.

    I haven’t figured out the modxcms solution, so I’m all ears and will probably post a separate thread.

    For those of you still looking, inline IFRAME support is indeed an option without having to resort to a Chunk:

    I simply dropped the following code into the "Custom Parameters" field on the Configuration tab of the TinyMCE Plugin smiley

    extended_valid_elements : "iframe[src|width|height|name|id|class|align|style|frameborder|border|allowtransparency]",

    This works well and with the Cleanup option still enabled, too.

        Does anyone have any pointers to a tutorial on how to do this in Revo? I know it’s a custom parameter but I need somewhere to start with that.

          Does anyone know where to make these settings for TinyMCE in Revolution?

          I found something similar in this file:

          /assets/components/tinymce/xconfig.js

          However, this file has iframes already entered like this:

          var tinymce_valid_elements = ""
          +"iframe[align<bottom?left?middle?right?top|class|frameborder|height|id"

          +"|longdesc|marginheight|marginwidth|name|scrolling<auto?no?yes|src|style"

          +"|title|width|allowfullscreen],"

          I tried added iframes here, as some seem to suggest:

          var tinymce_extended_valid_elements = "iframe[src|width|height|name|id|class|align|style|frameborder|border|allowtransparency]";

          ...but nothing... TinyMCE STILL removes any iframes that I put in the html editor. Please help, thanks.

              Please,
              1) put ’iframe’ to the’assets\components\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce\plugins\’
              2) add in Custom Plugins ’iframe’ and in Custom Buttons Row 1 ’iframe’

                For Revolution, you need to create a new TinyMCE property to enable the TinyMCE extended_valid_elements setting.

                Follow the instructions here: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Properties+and+Property+Sets

                Add as new property to a custom property set attached to the TinyMCE Plugin

                the name of the property is extended_valid_elements

                The value (for iframes) is iframe[src|width|height|name|id|class|align|style|frameborder|border|allowtransparency]

                This *should* get added to the TinyMCE config when it loads. I’ve found that you need to clear the cache. I’ve been having some problems with the property not always getting picked up, and I have to add it to the default property set, which is bad because it gets lost if I upgrade the plugin.
