That’s a nice addition. I thought when you guys say glossary, it will be some kind of word listing, but the word highlighting and popup descrption tooltip is a really nice addition.
Anyway, as an outsider, I would like to propose a few things.
It’s better to use a new table, instead of using document tree. I’m not saying that it’s bad, but it contains too much fields/columns that are going to be null, and I believe it will affect performance, and in the long run, I believe it will works much better with differen table approach.
As far as front page editing, I think you’re talking about user authentication. MODx has a built in web user API to check current web user group. If you want to authenticate a manager user, than I built my own function that I usually use in my snippet. Feel free to holler me, if you guys need it.
Sincerely,
Hi
Glossary function sounds great to me - as I understand it you mean that there would be a section where you could view a glossary of terms with descriptions; but also any published documents could have a glossary definition appear on hovering over any word that was entered in the glossary? Would be nice to choose on a document by document basis if the glossary would hightlight terms? Or alternatively to have an on/off funtion for the user so they could turn on or off glossary definitions whilst browsing?
Regards
Martin
Is this the same kind of snippet with phpGiigle from garryn?

I don’t know if you want but I think that will be useful if it uses AutoLink.
If you need tooltip, I advise dommTT. It is very good and configurable.
