Just upgraded a site to 0.9.6 and I get a complete blank index.php page Manager runs, previews are empty. Source is blank to? What could this be? www.barassoboys.it

Anything in the error log?

There indeed is a repeating error
mod_security: Filtering against POST payload requested but payload is not available [hostname "www.barassoboys.eu"] [uri "/manager/index.php"] is the only error found in the apache error file. Modx sys event empty
Hope that gives someone a clue

Have you tried clearing the site cache from the Manager? That often resolves this problem after upgrades/server crashes. mod_security can also be problematic, but those errors are probably being triggered when you use the Manager use and are not likely to be related to the blank page problem (see how to resolve that separately
here).

What version did you upgrade from? 0.9.2.x or 0.9.5? If you have the template switcher plugin installed, disable it and see if that helps.

Disabled that plugin plus added "SecFilterEngine On
SecFilterSelective "REQUEST_URI" "/manager/index.php" "allow,nolog" still no change.

I remember that the advice during that upgrade process was to delete the template switcher plugin (not just disable it). It may be that just having this plugin in your cache file causes it to break, so try that next. The reason that I’m focusing on this plugin in particular is because I believe it caused totally blank pages just like you’re experiencing.
