[Module/Snippet]Ecommerce/Shopping cart

Seems promising. I have logged in, made a product selection and the checkout process was smooth. Hopefully this can be developed into a full fledge shop with the possibility to support a large catalog of products..?

I have a site running modx, but have been using an external shopping cart so far which is connected to my modx site via weblinks, though it is a headache, that seems to be the only real possibility so far at the moment.

This is help....and if it done properly will be VERY popular.
Unfortunately it will be too late for my most recent project, So I will be doing most of this myself....at breakneck speed.

I’m willing to help/share anything that comes out of it with you guys to push this module forward.
I envisage a series of snippets to handle:

Snippet/Snippets:
- Listing Catalogue |Templateable|
- Individual Product |Templateable|
- View Cart - edit, update, delete |Templateable|
- Confirm page: Sends to Gateway |Templateable|
- Script to process response from gateway |Templateable|

Module:
- Catalogue Manager
- Order Manager
- Customer Manager

Again this looks ambitious....but I see the above as been VERY simple. No bells and whistles...

I’m afraid I’ve not had a chance to take it any further but perhaps you can build on the principles outlined.

IMO couple of must have features to make it inline with current ecommerce solutions (most are overkill but some are asked for by every client):

Manager/Back end

Product options - S,M,L or other definable variants which also can affect price. Almost like TV’s - highly configurable.

Product reviews - allow a user to rate and comment with modding in the manager.

Product suggestions/Cross sell - allow admin to build ’packages of products’ that can be suggested to the end user during full product page views.

Stock control

Order manager - table in the manager

Sale items - by marking these as on sale - higher relevance/promotion to ’home page’

Volume Discounts

Front End

Shop by brand

Search by a price range or definable variant/TV

I know it is a big ask - but you did ask

It would be extremely well received and those who have had to wrestle with a variety of integration projects would feel it to be absolutely necessary. We would be very interested in contributing to a MODx eCommerce module that actually functions.

The link to the demo site returns a Parse Error.

Seems live every attempt at marrying MODx and eCommerce becomes a dead end.

Perhaps just a bug today?

That is good to hear. Please don’t hesitate to ask the community for support. There are a lot of people interested in eCommerce on MODx with none of the current implementations having been particularly successful. There seems to be some people trying to resurrect TreasureChest and/or ShopKeeper and rumours are that MODx Warehouse is no longer going to be developed.
