[buggy snippet] Front End Document Manager (FDM) v0.1b

Keep in mind there won’t be a future version of this snippet per say, since the new version of this snippet is a complete rewrite using xPDO. Now one question remain : will xFDM be compatible with MODx Revolution only or legacy MODx + xPDO ?

Is it possible to let front end user choose the parent id (subcategory) from dropdown list?

I wish I could help with the above question, but I unfortunately have a question of my own.

Is it possible to define which template to use when creating a new document? It seems to default to the default if you know what I mean.

Any help would be appreciated.

I’m going crazy on the blank-browser-with-mcpuk-problem, I thought it worked with the config line from Paprikas:

..until I realized that it only works from FDM if a manager user is logged in. That’s no surprise since the paths are set to /manager/media.... so, now how do I get this line working?

I need to have mcpuk show the content in the browser when only a web user is logged in. Is there some way of debuging, some way of telling if this problem is file permission related or path permission related or modx web user permission related? All I can see is an empty browser window... Did anyone solve this?

I am not sure why you are all trying to circumvent the manager level settings to make the filebrowser work when you can just as easily create a special manager with permissions that only allow them to edit their own content. It seems far less risky to create users with just enough permissions to do the tasks they need without core hacking or giving access to web users to the manager.

What I want to do is to make it possible for webusers to use /assets/plugins/tinymce3101/mcpuk/browser.php and not the manager one if I can help it. It’s needed on a webpage where the only web user is the one account that are used to change the content on the pages, that user need to be able to add images, able to crop them and add files as attachments on the page.

The problem is that I’m having no success what so ever with mcpuk in /assets/plugins/tinymce3101/mcpuk/ that would be my preferred one, but it’s blank and I have no way of seeing why it’s blank. :-/ I would think that the files in /assets/plugins/tinymce3101/mcpuk/ are there for a reason but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to use them with the web users in the front end of the site with FDM.

When I use ManagerLogin to try using FDM with manager users MemberCheck and pages locked by document group won’t work, even if I create a document group and a manager group and link them together.

I would like to do all this with web users and absolutely prefer no hacking, but I find it hard to find a solution on all this. Some must have done this before... I’m missing something but I can’t see what...

I am using my hack because I don’t have webusers. Only one user for manage pages, galleries, etc..

We could create a snippet that makes both a web user and manager user login (if it finds a manager and web account with the same name) from the same form, if it only finds a web account it just makes a weblogin, that would solve everything without hacking, then we upgrade the Web2Manager plugin so that it works again to sync the accounts.

This gives us manager accounts for page editing and web accounts for the usual things...

Seems the best solution that I can think about, and it seems like a good solution too. :-D

I got a lot figured out, now I have a form to fill out with TV’s on it, The TVs are called in the template but i’d like to be able to not show a line if the field was left empty.

ie:
<p>Event Date: [+tveventdate+]</p>

if even date was left blank, have the whole line not show up?
