are there any alternatives to using FDM for adding blog entries? I am having problems with the @CODE chunk and friendly URLs, making this an unacceptable snippet for a live website. Also, I cannot find NewsPublisher in the repository. Help!

NewsPublisher should be installed with the default snippets.

I have FDM deployed on a live website and it’s working fine with 140+ users, it might not suit you (and your particular needs) but it’s a first class snippet ! Keep in mind it’s not maintained anymore since Soda is working on a 0.9.7 port already (xFDM). FDM has unique capabilities which NewsPublisher doesn’t have starting with TVs which is not a small item...

"Unacceptable for a live website" seems like a quick judgment to me. Please respect Soda’s work

hey there david, no disrespect intended... I have actually been using FDM on another project without errors, but that site also has FURLs disabled...

this is the error I receive when trying to create a new document using FDM on a site with FURLs enabled:

« `/blog-demo.html` is not numeric and may not be passed to makeUrl() »

I am also experiencing the @CODE: apparition when used with Jot comments.

And also, which alias method did you select for FDM (personnaly I use %alias% ) ?

About @code, never used it with FDM...

the @CODE: issue has been brought up on this forum but never resolved, and has something to do with using Jot snippet for comments. @CODE: appears next to the FDM buttons.

Sorry, I should have been clearer when you use clean URLs you have to use the [tt]&aliastype[/tt] parameter (check documentation) otherwise you’ll end up with an alias based on the ID. You have a lot of different alias pattern available, it’s even more flexible than the manager’s alias generation
