Ditto 1.1 Beta 1

  Beta 2 is now out, thus Beta 1 is closed.
  
  The Ditto SVN @1267 (Provided by CVS Dude) is now being released as Ditto 1.1 Beta 1. A zipped SVN export is available at the end of this post. Please note that this is a beta release and parameter names and functionality are subject to change before the next release. Please test this out and report bugs or issues in this thread. DO NOT post them in the bugtracker as with Ditto 1.1 a new TRAC based Ditto site will be unveiled.
  
  This release has several major changes.
  
  

  
  
  • The entire document retrieval logic has been rewritten to improve performance on high document count instances
  • Archives have been removed and recreated in the new snippet Reflect available in the Ditto package at assets/snippets/reflect/reflect.snippet.inc.php
  • QE style placeholders with edit links now possible via the [+#item+] syntax
  • Tags now support multiple tagData sources in a comma delimited fashion and the [+tags+] placeholder for a nice tag
    list
  • It is now possible to have multiple Ditto calls with url based features on one page thanks to the id parameter which assigns a unique ID to each Ditto instance
  [li]A new config architecture allowing users to create config files in the config directory with the simple syntax of

  <?php
  $param = "value";
  ?>

  and call via &config=`name` in the snippet call[/li]
  
  • New "request" config file that sets all safe variables from the URL as Ditto parameters in a more efficient manner than DittoMachine thanks to the config architecture
  
  
  • Added new @bindings for templates including @CODE: and @FILE: for their respective purposes
  • Created new format files which contain all needed parameters for each format which CAN be overriden in the snippet call, including templates
  • Revamped language files which make debug output much easier to translate
  • Moved similar functions into their own classes so that other snippets can utilize their functions
  • Parents and documents options now available, start ID deprecated (will still work though...)
  • Added between filtering for dates for use in conjunction with Reflect based archives or custom links
  • Added placeholders option to trigger [+item[x]+] style placeholders and cancel all output.
  • Major RSS improvements so now foreign character should work and no email addresses needed (dc:creator now used instead of author)
  • XML Format!
  • The obligatory much, much, more!

  You have to remove <?php at the beginning of the file
  What about replace create date by pub date for sortBy option?

  I wanted to ask you if you plan to improve the page navigation for website with thousands of documents .
  Would it be possible to get an output like this:
  
  [11-20][21-22-23-24-25-...-30][31-40]

  Hi mark,
  
  I’ve made some tests and it seems there is a bug with &limit.
  If I’m setting limit to increase speed (by the way that’s impressive how much faster it is with this parameter activated) the documents are no more retrieved.
  
  About &depth, 0 = nothing and not infinite.

  EDIT:
  one more thing.
  About tagDatas, could you provide an example to filter on several tvs.
  For instance I’m working on a project where docs have two TV
  tv1:type(type1||type2) single select
  tv2:content(content1||content2||content3) multiple select
  
  How to get docs where type=type2 and content=content1 OR content2
  How to get docs where type=type2 and content=content1 AND content2
  
  is that possible with ditto 1.1.

  Depth 0 is not infinite anymore. You have to set a number.
  
  This example should get you started:
  
  &tags=`type2,content,content2`
  &tagData=`type,content`
  &tagDeliminter=`,`
  
  Where both of your TV’s have the delimited list widget on with the delimiter as a comma. You will need to filter not on the name of the item in the multi select but on its value.

  Just checked in at &limit and it seems to be working fine. Could you provide a specific example where it is failing? Remember it is the maximum number of records to retrieve BEFORE filtering, sorting, etc. It is not the same as &total which is handled AFTER filtering, sorting, etc.

  Ok, that’s why it doesn’t retrieve my docs.
  That’s a pity not to be able to limit before filtering (I suppose there is a logical reason for this).
  When filter is off, loading pages is loooong
  I’m testing with a site containing about 2 500 docs.
