Have the choice is definitly a good point, Ive found that I can use [*site_url*]/pagename.html

Works a treat in Firefox but when inserting html tags in IE via fckeditor it pre adds the currently url

var sTagOutput = ’<a href="’ + sURL.value + ’">’ + document.getElementById("txtTitle").value + ’</a>’;
oEditor.FCK.InsertHtml( sTagOutput );

Seems to be a FCK bug, so i will look at rebuilding the tag another way

Why not generate the links like <a href=’[~id_of_the_page~]’>Title here</a> ?

That way MODx will generate the link to the document when the page is parsed and I think it takes freindly URL settings into account when generating the link. This also avoids problems when pages get a new alias.

Yep thats the plan Mitch got the code working in Firefox but fckeditor when you use the command to insert html it changes <a href=’[~id_of_the_page~]’>Title here</a> to <a href=’http://www.spcs.eu/assets/plugins/fckeditor/etc.etc/[~id_of_the_page~]’>Title here</a>

Which seems to be a fault with the fckeditor posted some questions on their sourceforge forums so hopefully someone gets back to me with a fix soon.

The button does not appear even after i have gone over the steps from the plugin’s readme.txt several times. I do not get any error so i don’t know what is going on.

Anyone has got some ideas i could try?

I had the same problem. I can’t remember exactly what I did to resolve it, but try clearing your browser’s cache and refresh the site using the modx manager.

I had this problem during dev of the script, its something to do with the browser caching if you delete temp files etc then go back into the manager section the button should appear.

I also found that if I made changes to the dialog whilst in the editor to refresh I had to right click edit another document.

The site I am testing it with is one I locally set-up on a computer I am using at work. I will report back next week when I’m back on it

The icon now indeed showed up after buffer clearing. However the windows that popup only shows a cancel button and a content area which unfortunately only says the following:

Looks like a path error you have there.

It seems that your path to modxapi.php is right as it is looking at that file but one of the includes from that cannot find C:\xampp\htdocs/manager/includes/config.inc.php

Are you able to use this test-modxapi.php on your site which should output a page to the screen?

Now that you quote that, I noticed that it uses backslashes as well as slashes in the path string. I think this is weird but then again i don’t know anything about PHP coding (yet wink

)

Any way this *does* seem to be a path error like you are stating. It might help to say that, from the top of my head, i do remember that i placed the ModX install in a subfolder so the path it should instead be using to access the file would be more like:
C:\xampp\htdocs/effictiv/manager/includes/config.inc.php

Does CMSContent assume that the install is located in the site root directory? If yes, how can I alter the path?
