CSS and other errors from the manager?

I don’t know if this is an issue, or if it is an issue whether it should be mentioned here ...

I use Firefox (2.0) with the Error Console turned on to check that my CSS etc is all OK, but when I am using the manager, I get multiple warnings.... I am not sure if these should be ignored, or collected, or reported or what.

The warnings I get are things like

Don’t worry about these too much right now. In MODx 0.9.5, we’ve basically gutted the use of the CoolButtons script so the use of the CSS won’t be used either. The captureEvents warning is something that will eventually be going away as well. Nothing to be worried about...it’s just a bit of a by-product from the WebFX scripts still being used by MODx. Looking forward past the 0.9.5 release, you can expect a complete overhaul of the scripts being used within the manager. We’re working hard to utilize more current techniques to achieve the same results but in a more efficient way. Just takes a little time is all.

Yeah, that "filter" stuff is IE-only CSS. It will all be gone soon.

The filters definitely won’t be gone in 095, and perhaps not in 1.0. It’s a very simple way to achieve partial transparency without affecting usability or adding a lot of Javascript code.

If someone wants my opinion, cut out IE from the list of browsers used to manage MODxed sites. This will heavily cut down the work to do form the manager, and I think no one in the world can make a site AND use IE.
We will simply tell our clients to install Firefox or Opera. I always spread Firefox among my clients, even if IE can manage MODx.
IE have to be deprecated from internet: in 5 years of work they didn’t reach Opera, Firefox, Safari? It’s a shame IE7 still has glitches. And security bulletin are starting yet!

Believe it or not, Opera is actually more broken than IE with the manager as it stands. Cutting out IE as a supported platform is just not realistic by any stretch. I’d rather just sell sites to corporate types and let them use what they’re accustomed to using rather than trying to sell both a new browser platform and new site.

So true. IE is definitely here to stay, and must be dealt with.

Unfortunately

I have to say I kind of understood IE still being dominant two years ago, but as time goes by I just can’t wrap my head about people still using a slower, less secure browser... it’s beyond the realm of what should exist... hopefully people will upgrade to IE7 and lessen the pain of webdeveloppement but my, this is really a time-consuming thing to deal with IE
