Page variables?

Sorry for bumping an old thread.

But does the core team have a plan to make TV as (or add another) PV?
From the user point of view, adding a variable field to the resource page directly will help them a lot on finishing their publication, no time-wasting to wait an admin/ a developer to create another template for their specific need(s).

And also, making a lot of Templates (because there are a lot of Template Variables compositions) will bring them more confusion, no?

PV can be some selective snippets that don’t require a template concern, like FileDownloadPE, etc.

In a sense, all Chunks and Snippets are already reusable page elements. In MODx 2.1, you will be able to associate any Content Element directly to a Resource (will be known as Resource Elements), but I’m not sure that’s exactly what you mean. Maybe if you describe how you envision the user experience of your mythical PV we can talk specifics.

There should be 2 download options for EVO
One with ManagerManager and one without it.

BTW I often just rename input field titles and use existing Document Variables (e.g description)
for other data...

While I’m concerning about Evo, perhaps I’ll see about Revo.
May be just like default Drupal installation, there is a "Comment settings", which the user can choose an option (Disable, Read only, Read/Write) directly, or Revision information’s option, whereas in ModX, the user have to make a "Jot Template" or "Content History" module already enable in place.

If the author is also the admin, then it’s not a problem to learn about using "[[Jot?]]".
But in my case, for some authors whom changed in anytime and/or inviting school teachers to make a writing, guiding them to make a "machine code" will frighten them in the first place.
And also, it’ll become an unfinished business for the web-developer.
