mootool accordion

has anyone had any luck installing the accordion ajax code from the mootools framework.

Depends on what you actually mean by installing? What is your desired use for it?

I’ve used it for my menu using Wayfinder but it wasn’t installed as such.


ON my site, I’m using a jquery version now as mootools loves not to work with itself. (my opinion of course )

I have not tried to call accordion yet. I would like to use a dbapi call inbetween the div tags...
I would like to use it exactly like on the demo page

I used the accordion for a FAQ page.
So it works.

the html is the same as on the mootools page and the html is generated with a snippet.

To use the mootools library in your pages, you would use it the same way as i’ve you are using a static HTML page.

Make sure you get it working in a basic HTML document first and then you can port it over to MODx...

Make sure you include the <script> tags in the head of the page to call the Mootools library and the effects etc.

Just follow exactly what is on the mootools site as using MODx is no different than creating basic HTML documents if that is what you wish to do.

If you have dreamweaver or a similar HTML program, get it working in that first and understand how you use it. Then you would put the same code in to a Template in MODx.

Just make sure the links to the library and any mootools effects is relative to the template. Example assets/js/mootools.js

i have been working on this for weeks now. I have set up 2 default modx sites one on a hosted service. The other on a new linux box. To eliminate the environmental issues with a hosted account. Let me make this point clear, I am not using the accordion menu. Mootools has an very powerful function that hides unwanted text from a page. (http://demos.mootools.net/Accordion). I just want to get the demo page working as it sits on the Mootools page. It takes no time at all to set up on a standard web server. I have been trying to call the page from a snippet as an include. This brings the text over but loses the javascript. I am still trying ...if any one has any ideas .....please...I will post EXACT code when i get this working ....its a great function

let me add this note ....I have attempted to run the demo as a static page as suggested.  This works as long as I only utilize it as a blank static page.  As soon as I use a template the accordion action stops working.  Please see these examples of 2 static html pages.  The blank template works the standard modxcms css does not.....as always thanks for any assistance
