It sure seems to be a file permission problem. Guess I better get working on the ability to exclude directories/files from the backup process. I think I’ll add a choice to use the current file selection as "automatic" and enable a "manual" file selection that allows the building of a custom list.

I’ve tried the script on a site on a different host and it works just fine! I really like what you’ve done so far. It seems to work a lot better than other modules I’ve tried.

BkupMODx 1.3 should be in your email. Thanks for offering to test the "manual" mode. Let me know how it works out. If my testing is any indication it is time to upload this into the MODx Resources area for others to play with.

Got it in the mail and have it running on a stable site with no problems. So far...it looks great!!

I’m going to install it on one of the "trouble" sites tomorrow and play with it more. I’ll let you know very soon how it goes.

Messed with it quite a bit today and it works great! No problems to report at all.

Solved the problem on the site I was having issues with. The config file works great and is very easy to setup.

I beat on it quite a bit today on four different sites, all of differing size and it tore through all of them without a hitch.

The next version is in testing. The config process is simplified at the expense of some significant code changes. After I work through the test cases I’ll update what little documentation there is and package it for release. It will probably be done by the end of the week.

Hello, I have just upped the latest version of your module and I was wondering what would cause the script to only partially backup my files?

It seems that the zip will not go beyond 97.44mb... No doubt a host limitation. Is there a way to test this?

my backup process looks like this and has been like this for about 10 mins

Backup in process...

Start MySQL backup of database to backup/tmp/database.sql . . . Completed MySQL backup. - Size: 199

Start FileList . . . File count: 7773 . . Completed FileList.

Start PclZip archive of all files to /home/sites/public_html/../backup/bkup_20080618_031755.zip . . .

I think your host is killing the process which takes more CPU, and zipping the large dir consumes more cpu cycles and I personally faced the same situation whil archiving a large directory.

To work around, you will need to add a switch to zip command which disallow compression of the files.
