Shop in Modx

Looking at using Modx for a client. They want a shop setting up as part of the site. Has anyone had any experience of using some sort of opensource Commerce in conjunction with ModX? Possibly osCommerce?

I have heard people using cube cart and zen cart atleast.. and I’m sure that some use osCommerce too.. There’s nothing in MODx that prevents you from using the commerce app you want. Basicly it’s just a matter of templating the commerce app to look like your site and maybe pull the MODx menu over to the commerce app.

There has also been OSC connector in the works, but it seems that the development on that has been stalled..

Thanks for the head’s up. Still a bit wary of whether to try and get a ModX / OSCommerce combo up or, simply go with XOOP where a module already exists. I’ll do some testing tomorrow, and let my boss decide.

This site which I and my team developed uses OSC for commerce and ModX for CMS ;-p works pretty well and uses the ModX Doc API to pull ModX managed content into OSC where appropriate though it’s still a bit of a hack...

Personally, I’m trying to find a MODx-only solution for eCommerce... I know that ShopX is probably the closest thing out there yet, though still in early stages. Will be interesting to see where we’ll be in a few months from now...

That’s because the site uses an old version of MODx and the visitor logging is on. That error can be solved by turning the logging off.

I have setup several stores using a commercial shopping cart: Veracart
Basically, I paste in some javscript code (or php) and wha-la, the site iis runnning in [glow=red,2,300]ModX[/glow]’s template.
