You need a httpd.ini file. There is a module you need, but i cant remember the name. It was installed by default at the windows server i was using. I did it at this site: http://www.grietatsma.nl

    Some things you should know:
    - Only use the .html suffix
    - no prefix
    - no paths
    - no duplicates (d’oh!)

The httpd.ini file looks like this:
    [ISAPI_Rewrite]

    RewriteEngine On
    Rewrite Rule ^/manager/.* - [L]
    Rewrite Rule ^/assets/.* - [L]
    RewriteRule /(.*).html /index.php?q=$1

    /edit
One more thing. Somehow SEF urls on windows takes a couple of minutes to work. So after you upload the .ini file wait a couple of minutes.

I’m guessing this file will work very much like the .htaccess file right, do I just put the .ini file in the root of the install? Also if this replaces the .htacces files what can I do about the .htaccess in modx/manager?

Well if your on a windows server and cant run .htaccess files you just have to put this one in your site root (same place as .htaccess). No files are need in the manager directory.

              Problem with Friendly URLs

Do not matter what I try I still get 404 error page. Even if I use SEO (Google) Friendly URLs or Friendly urls without mod_rewrite

The mod_rewrite is enabled in Apache. And it seems to work, since I can do a redirect domain.com -> www.domain.com

              Options + FollowSymlinks
              RewriteEngine On
              RewriteBase /
              RewriteCond% (HTTP_HOST)! ^ Www \. Mydomain.spb \. Ru [nc]
              RewriteRule (.*) http://www.mydomain.spb.ru/ $ 1 [R = 301, L]

              # The Friendly URLs part
              RewriteCond% (REQUEST_FILENAME)!-F
              RewriteCond% (REQUEST_FILENAME)!-D
              RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php? Q = $ 1 [L, QSA]

Where is and what may be the error huh
