Manager login issues? (solved, well, sort of...)

Occasionally I’ll get something similar; the form will go empty, the browser status bar says "Done" and it just sits there looking at me (or me looking at it). If I wait a minute it suddenly comes alive and loads the Manager. If I refresh the browser it will refresh to the Manager welcome page. It never occurred to me to click the "forgot password" link. I’ll try that next time it does it.

I would be OK if that was the only issue but the other issues I see is that the default Quick Edit and the MaxiGallery functions don’t work either. So there must be some issue with the server, the version of PHP or temporary permissions?

Update: the site owner (I am doing this for a friend without payment) has decided to cut bait and get a refund from iPage and we will try our luck with Bluehost instead. While it would have been satisfying to learn what the issue was here this was becoming a major time waster...

In the end the switch to Bluehost went really smoothly and saved a lot of time, pain and suffering...

This site is very much still a major work in progress with all kinds of work still to be done.

I did the design and built the whole beach and mountains scene with Photoshop without using any actual images: just some Photoshop brushes, freehand drawing and gradients, all done with layers...

No, I did my own install of 1.0.3 which went very smoothly. No register_globals warnings etc.

The couple that own this little business are great. But they are very non computer savvy. I am adding three TV’s for the right sidebar column: picture, extara headline, and additional text area, all custom styled with CSS. They intend on creating a series of articles which will be controlled with Ditto and Tags etc. All they have to do is fill in the TV boxes and the CSS and MODx takes care of the rest. This will be very useful for announcements etc. Gotta love MODx TV’s!

I could have added more but the goal for this site was to keep things clean and simple. I think the gallery will be a hit here though.

But I am very pleased with my experience with Bluehost so far...

I did a site with the SimpleScripts install in cPanel there a while back and it was really a breeze -- no upload or FTP, the files are all there and install in a few seconds. That was a while ago, though, and I think a couple of people have had trouble with the install there lately. I was wondering if it’s fixed now and if 1.0.3 is available.

I need to mention that I am using your cool FAQ snippet on this site.

I have played with jQuery FAQ systems as well, but your MODx FAQ works well, is easy to use and is very easily modified with CSS...

BTW, Bluehost’s SimpleScripts in cPanel also allows you to "import" an existing site that you’ve installed yourself so that you can update it to a new version via SimpleScripts (or so they claim -- haven’t tried it yet). I just checked and they do have 1.0.3.

I’m having the same login problems with my Revolution install. I’m able to login from the localhost when I’m on the server, but when I try to login externally the login page just refreshes (after I enter the username, password and press login). I’ve been searching the internets and modx forums for an answer for the last week and haven’t had any luck (I thought the solution http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,35112.0.html would help, but unfortunately not.)

The revolution install is on a windows 2008 server running IIS 7.

any help is greatly appreciated.
