The only reason I know of why it doesn’t offer the upgrade option is that it cannot find or read the manager/includes/config.inc.php file. Are you sure the original config.inc.php file got moved over to the new server?
Have the same problem, wanted to go from 1.0.0 to 1.0.5. Because it didn’t work, I tried a new install instead. Moved all the old files to a safe location and uploaded the 1.0.5-files with ftp.
Installation starts fine, but when I get to the step to "create or test the selection of the database", it won’t go any further. I click the link, nothing happens. No error message or whatsoever...

Could it be possible that you have some kind of firewall settings on your computer that is blocking stuff? Or security settings on the web server?
I again contacted the hosting company and they tried to install it themselves. They had to reconfigure something on the server, then it worked. Dunno what they changed to make it work.

Good for them; all too many hosting providers would just give a boilerplate "we don’t support applications" response.
