A Subversion release of an alpha product is not a good spot to start familiarizing yourself with a product. To learn the essence of what makes MODx what it is, grab the stable production version. The links I posted are also the ones that are on the main site. Ignore any other legacy information.

Well then quit publishing links to that page; all the current downloads are at http://modxcms.com/download/

What if one has been observing MODx from the wings for a long time, is considering making the plunge, and doesn’t have any burning deadlines that require a production release in the next few months? Not much point in learning Evolution if Revolution will be radically different (which the names and other forum entries imply).

          Cheers,

          Jim

Feel free to. I’d encourage it. laugh

I would note, though, that a lot of the 3rd Party Components (we call them 3PCs - things such as snippets, plugins, etc) are not going to be available for Revolution as-is. You might have to do some work to convert them. Some will be available at the beta release, which should come before the summer.

So you might run into that as a blocker when making your site; but we’re adding new things and 3PCs nearly every day, so you should see more things become available post-beta.

And we always love and appreciate bug reports, fixes, and analysis on JIRA. See my signature for Fisheye for SVN tracking and Confluence for Revo docs.
