I know with my host 500 errors are normally one of two things:

        1. Permission errors
        2. .htaccess errors

Depending on your host your files/folders may need to be 644/755 which should correct any errors or you are trying to change a php setting using .htaccess and your host limits php changes to php.ini.

If neither of these fix the problem post more details as noted.

So, you already got modx installed and working at: http://www.cezz.co.uk/manager/
but you installed modx again in a subdomain http://fb.cezz.co.uk/manager/ ?
While installing, did you choose another database? Or at least another prefix? Maybe there are conflicts if you’ve chosen the exact same settings as the working install. o_O

But yeah, more infos would be helpful...

There is no conflicts in the .htaccess file in fact its currently empty, the sub domain is in an account of its own using its own database so no conflicts.

I am have CHMOD all files to correct permissions, same problem.

            Apache Version 1.3.41
            PHP Version 5.2.6

Both accounts are running in the save environments but different accounts.

This may be a naive post, but I was getting 500 errors and disabling the Search Highlight plugin solved it for me.

I asked for a lot more information and so far all I’ve seen is a couple of version numbers and thread bumping. Feel free to review the error.log that is created, and go back to the beginning and start deploying again from scratch until you figure out what the problem might be. It has to be environment related. I suggest you install it in a local instance, as this is alpha software, and we’re looking for folks that want to more actively participate in the development process.

[tt]I have made a local install aswell which installs with no problem but no default content themes or snippets installed, what im trying to work out is what in the environment could be wrong, if you tell me what information you need i can give it to you but as i have stated there is no problems installing version 0.9.6 in the same environment and installing 0.9.7 installed fine placing all the databases where it should but giving a 500 internal server error after installation.

no .htaccess file to cause error and nothing that I alone can spot without assistance, like I said tell me what information you need and i will quite happily provide it.[/tt]
