Hi,
in Evolution 1.0.5 there was a really great setting:

Automatic Template Assignment 	

New Resources will have the following templates, falling back to higher levels if not found:
[b]System[/b]: the System Default Template.
[b]Parent[/b]: the same Template as the parent container.
[b]Sibling[/b]: the same Template as other Resources in the same container.

is there a similar setting in Revolution?

@tillilab,

I was wondering about this as well. Agreed, a very great feature, one I would use by default almost exclusively.

I did not see anything like this in the core, but until then I'm sure it must be possible via a custom plugin (similar to how it was originally handled in Evo...)

I don't believe there is and I agree it is a great setting. Could someone enter a feature request and link it back?

Doesn't look like it's been assigned to anyone yet... and v2.2.6 is about to release. Maybe v2.2.7, just in time for Christmas? wink

actually you can use this: "on parent you select the template for new children" : http://modx.com/extras/package/inherittemplate

CTRL+SHIFT+U - Clear Cache
CTRL+SHIFT+H - Hiding Heft Panel
CTRL+SHIFT+N - Fast Create Resource
CTRL+ALT+P - Preview Recource (in edit resorce window)
CTRL+ALT+S - Save

This plugin is great but that default settings should be great too
