    I just post a new beta here: http://modx.com/extras/package/slideshowmanager.

    Give some feed back if you have tried it.

    Thanks

      While the Install seemed to go fine for me, things don’t seem to be working right. The first pic shows when I first go into slideshow manager. The second is after I have tried to add a slide.

        I forgot to put in the instructions that you need to create an album(slideshow) before you can add slides.

        Also I forgot one more step in the install(that is why you don’t have any words on the grid):

        Install:
        1. Install via the MODX Revolution packagemanagment
        2. Run the [[installSlideshowManager]] snippet one time, this will create the database tables.
        3. Manualy install the CMP:
        See http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Custom+Manager+Pages+Tutorial for more help
        a. Create Namespace: System->Namespace
        Click Create New and then fill exactly for Name: slideshowmanager
        and for Path: {core_path}components/slideshowmanager/
        b. Create the Action
        System->Actions
        Right-click slideshowmanager from the list of namespaces and select "Create Action Here".
        Controller: controllers/index
        Namespace: yes, use the same namespace: slideshowmanager
        Check Load Headers
        Language Topics: slideshowmanager:default(see screen shot)
        Now click save
        c. Create the Menu Object
        Right-Click "Components" and choose "Place Action Here"
        Lexicon Key: slideshowmanager
        Description: slideshowmanager.desc
        Action: slideshowmanager.desc - index
        Save (you can ignore the Icon, Parameters, Handler, and Permissions fields for now)
        4. Refresh your browser and you should see Slideshow Manager under the Components menu.

          I made some good progress. I probably would have realized I needed an album first if I had seen the verbage laugh

          Per the screenshot below it seems not to be allowing my files. I tried .jpg and .png, but neither worked. There are a few visual problems with the panels too, but those are probably minor at this stage.

            What browser, version number and OS are you using? What PHP version does your site run on? Is it IIS or Apache? Note, I have only tested in FireFox 4/5.

            The file upload error, I cannot reproduce it but maybe you could do some error trapping on this and let me know the results.

            Can you open up the file: core/components/slideshowmanager/model/formvalidate.class.php and look for line 206 to 213:
            <?php
                   if ( !in_array($file_ext, $allow_array) || $this->_getFileType($file_ext) != $_FILES[$file]['type'] ){
                        if( $file_ext == 'rtf' && $_FILES[$file]['type'] == 'application/msword' ) {
                            // do nothing!
                        } else{
                            $this->error_array[$file] = 'Incorrect file type';
                            return;
                        }
                    }
            ?>

            And then replace it with this and save the file and try to upload a file again:
            <?php
                  if ( !in_array($file_ext, $allow_array) || $this->_getFileType($file_ext) != $_FILES[$file]['type'] ){
                        if( $file_ext == 'rtf' && $_FILES[$file]['type'] == 'application/msword' ) {
                            // do nothing!
                        } else{
                            $this->error_array[$file] = 'Incorrect file type - ext: '.$file_ext.' mime type should be: '.$this->_getFileType($file_ext).' but it is: '.$_FILES[$file]['type'];
                            return;
                        }
                    }
            ?>

            After you do that could you let me know what the message states? Then you can remove the strike out code to this and it will override that check and let you upload files:

            if ( !in_array($file_ext, $allow_array) || $this->_getFileType($file_ext) != $_FILES[$file][’type’] ){

              Alright, here we go...

              1. Firefox 5 worked perfectly for me. It looks and works great from what I can tell. Granted, I’m a total noob and haven’t used any options besides the default, but I have a nice slider created.

              2. The slider, once created in Firefox, displays fine in IE.

              3. Screenshots below show the error when trying to upload a .jpg or .png in IE7

              FYI, I’m using IE7.0.5730.13 and WinXP SP3 at the moment, but I can try on Win7 when I get to my other computer if needed.

                    Did you run [[installSlideshowManager]] snippet? If you did not run it then you don’t have any database created and will have that error. Note you only need to run this one time. If you did that and it still did not work can you go to Reports -> Error Log and see if there are any errors in there and if so let me know what they are.
