TinyMCE latest plugin error

Hi I am getting error after updating to the latest tinyMCE 4.2.0-rc1 plugin. Error is in both 2.0.7 and 2.0.8 versions of MODX.
Usually when I delete some or all content in editor then on every press of key I am getting error in Firebug:

String contains an invalid character" code: "5
[Break On This Error] (function(c){var a=/^\s*|\s*$/g,d;var ...{a.selection.onSetContent.add(f)})}});
tiny_m...v=208pl (line 1)

Editor then does not work properly anymore.
Anyone else has similar problem?

Hmm getting a similar error - when I hit any button in the editor. Revo 2.0.8.

Any suggestions on how to roll back to the previous version?

This problem just hit me as well in my fresh Revo install from last night. I finally figured out how to manually revert to a prior version which seems to be working so far:

Using Package Management, you want to Remove Package on tinymce 4.2.0. Confirm that neither the zip nor the expanded directory are in /core/packages/

Download 4.1.2 from http://modxcms.com/extras/package/459

Move the tinymce-4.1.2-pl.transport.zip file into /core/packages/

Using Package Management, select Add New Package and then select "Search Locally for Packages".

If everything is correct, Package Management should find Tiny MCE 4.1.2 and make it available for installation.

Thanks for that. Working on a fresh install since Friday and then updated Tinymce. Spent all of Saturday afternoon working with permissions, server settings, etc. to no avail.

Woke up this am and started all over. Fresh install etc. Everything seemed to work except tinymce. No buttons worked whatsoever. Saw your post, downgraded and joy.

Definitely something with the "update" tinymce plugin.

*edit* was to add sig for "hey you....!"

Revo 2.0.8-pl(trad), Centos5.5, Apache v2.2.17, PHP v5.34, PDO, zip v1.91, mysql v5.1.55, zend v2.3.0, register_globals=off, magic_quotes=off,

Also it seems that there are some other issues:
- background-color of my editor.css will not be accepted. Expecially there is a linking path like:

…editor?208pl

or so (unfortunately I have no notes about that),
- editing and saving of fresh content will not work,
- deleting of cache too.

So I decided to reinstall good ol’ Tiny MCE 4.1.2. Also I deleted the entry of Tiny MCE 4.2 of the MySQL package table.
Now its time to sleep because its midnight here.

OOps, I forgot:
Revo 2.0.8, MySQL 5.0.77, PHP Version 5.2.13, FF/Chrome

Shaun, I’ve tried the new version and the buttons are working fine for me in the Manager.

Unfortunately, the buttons no longer work in the front-end, even with Bruno17’s change to line 170 of tiny.js

In addition, the content of rich-text fields isn’t making it into the $_POST in the front end for some reason. My validator in NewsPublisher now says the content field is empty even if it’s filled in.

BTW, Bruno17’s fix for line 170 that I submitted in the pull request (bugfix2 branch) was this:

Hi Shaun,

Still getting the same issue - an initial Editor button click works, but subsequent clicks throw:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "String contains an invalid character"  code: "5" nsresult: "0x80530005 (NS_ERROR_DOM_INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR)"  location: "<domain>/assets/components/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js?v=208pl Line: 1"]

I’m getting this in FF/3.6.15 and Chrome 9.0.597.107, after a cleared cache and full plugin reinstall.
