SOLVED: Transfer Revo from subdomain to domain

If you move the site (Revolution), MODx may not be able to clear the cache because it’s confused about where it is. You can delete the files in core/cache (and the ones in the old core/cache, which it may still be using) manually.

Check the path in the four config.core.php files in these locations:

§ MODx root directory
§ /manager/
§ /connectors/
§ /setup/includes/

And any paths in core/config/config.inc.php

Be sure to clear your browser cache and cookies too. Sometimes that can be critical.

SOLVED: chatted with zi after giving him keys to the kingdom. It’s a permissions issue. With 20+ domains on my server to administrate I login as root so I don’t have to remember/keychain/set up 20+ logins for my SFTP app.

If I understood zi correctly, my root permissions were not allowing the Manager to "see" all of the subdirectories in the core/cache/ directory.
To quote zi from our chat:

in addition to chmoding 777 the config file in the core/config
and run setup

cache folder has lots of subfolders and files, all have their own permissions. modx wasnt able to access/modify them. that was the cause preventing it to work.

I’m not sure if Plesk had anything to do with this issue, nor if creating a server admin user with access to just the domains will solve it. Not sure I want to create 20+ logins either, so

So is there specific documentation for this? I have an EVO install on my main domain, and would like to update site to Revo, as well as do some graphics updates. I made a subdomain new._____.ca, and installed Revo on there, obviously making a new database. The site isn’t big, so I’m going to rebuild it on the subdomain. After I’m done, how do I ditch everything on my main domain and transfer the site from the subdomain to the parent? Can I just keep the new database? Thanks.
