SOLVED: Transfer Revo from subdomain to domain

Hi, I know how to move EVO files from a subdomain to main domain, but how is this done for Revo?

I tried it just now and it all defaults back to the subdomain paths. I changed all the path file instances.

The site loads with the subdomain look and feel (which is fine) but all other URLs default to the subdomain.

The manager is inactive/inaccessible blank page.

How do I get it all working?

SOLVED: chatted with zi after giving him keys to the kingdom. It’s a permissions issue. With 20+ domains on my server to administrate I login as root so I don’t have to remember/keychain/set up 20+ logins for my SFTP app.

If I understood zi correctly, my root permissions were not allowing the Manager to "see" all of the subdirectories in the core/cache/ directory.

cache folder has lots of subfolders and files, all have their own permissions. modx wasnt able to access/modify them. that was the cause preventing it to work.

I’m not sure if Plesk had anything to do with this issue, nor if creating a server admin user with access to just the domains will solve it. Not sure I want to create 20+ logins either, so

I haven’t done this but working on a site at the moment that will need this my plan is to copy all the files from the sub to the main and then run setup->Advanced upgrade to set all file paths etc. Might then need to fiddle with some system settings. But I think that should work assuming the main domain can access the DB.

As I say thats only how I plan to do it, don’t know if it works but it should.

You probably forgot to update the core paths in your database.

In the core/config/config.inc.php is the host:

$http_host='sub.domain.com';

Changed it, and that didn’t work. Uploaded setup and that gave me a blank page, too.

Hmmmm..... I’m going to try something and report back....

But it doesn’t. I like your simple solution, but it doesn’t work. Just tried.

Following the instructions ins’t going very well. It seems the cache has files that simply won’t go away.

Same with the Manager template.

The packages directory: all of the packages get the paths written right to them in the form of a file called preserved.php. Every package you load has that file written to it with the path.

Still get a white manager page. I wonder if this would be easier with changing the htaccess file to rewrite the URL to replace the subdomain with ’www’ instead? Thoughts? Consequences?

I meant what am I seeing there, lol. I could see the image just fine but had no idea what I was looking at.

Those were the additional files I had to go a global Find and Replace with the correct paths to files on top of what it mentioned here:

At this point, I’ve given up. I’m doing a fresh install of Revo on the domain, using Provisioner to move the content, then moving all the non-revo files over, mostly just my template and other site-specific files.
