    Ahh, yes. Those automatic email notifications are a blessing and a curse, as I’m sure you know wink
    When I duplicate the resource, the duplicate copy functions correctly. Good thought!

    I can, of course, just not use the problematic resources, but I’m more interested in finding a solution for the modx team than just a quick workaround for myself.

      Wait a minute. LOL, the inconsistency is not helping track down the issue.

      I just noticed that now my "industry-name2" FURL is no longer working correctly since duplicating "industry-name" (duplicate is named "industry-name3"). I’m 100% certain it was working just before. So to confirm that the duplication of "industry-name" into "industry-name3" was the reason that "industry-name2" stopped working, I again duplicated "industry-name". However this time the duplicate "industry-name4" has the same problem. "industry-name3" FURL continues to function as it should.

      I’d love to be able to reproduce this problem in a consistent way but so far I haven’t been able to.

      Sorry, I hope my resource naming convention isn’t too confusing, or the way I’ve written this follow-up. Let me know if it is and I’ll rephrase.

        I apologize for the spam, but something new has emerged sad

        Where 1 = industry-name
        Where 2 = industry-name2
        etc

        industry-name3 to industry-name6 are all duplicates of industry-name.

        No cache clearing
        5 works
        4 doesn’t
        3 works
        2 doesn’t
        1 doesn’t

        Cleared cache
        5 works
        4 doesn’t
        3 works
        2 doesn’t
        1 doesn’t

        Cleared cache, then duplicated 1 (producing industry-name6) and again cleared cache before Saving and again cleared cache after Saving
        6 doesn’t work and gives /42.html (Resource ID.html) instead of /industry-name6 or the correct /h-solutions/mh/mhc/industry-name6???? Huh??
        5 works
        4 doesn’t
        3 works
        2 works
        1 doesn’t

        Note above that 2 has started working as well.

        So in my attempts to reproduce the problem in a consistent manner, unfortunately I have discovered even more inconsistency.

          Suppose there’s nothing in the error.log?

          This is *really* odd, lol.



          Perhaps its worth the try to reupload all the files to see if something was missed, and running setup in upgrade again.

            Actually, I have the following repeated a number of times in error.log which may or may not be related.

            I did re-upload the files and ran through the upgrade option in setup, however I’m still getting the problem.

              I’ve seen that error before, but it means very little to me... hopefully a core dev will visit this topic soon.

                Cool, thanks Mark. Much appreciated.

                For anyone else reading this thread, I have discovered a pattern. Actually, first of all, my previous post where industry-name6 went to 42.html... I was being an idiot - forgot to put in an alias so that explains that specific problem.

                As for the pattern I’ve noticed, every second duplication of industry-name that I create works..

                1st duplication: works
                2nd duplication: doesn’t work
                3rd duplication: works
                4th duplication: doesn’t work
                and on and on up to the 14 that I did.

                The difference now is that I’ve made sure to enter in a unique Menu Index value after using the Duplicate option. I numbered the Menu Indexes after the order of duplication and that’s when the pattern emerged. No idea why and still no idea why the 1st occurrence ever happened.

                If I create a new, non-duplicate Resource elsewhere, then the pattern shifts to the opposite:
                1st duplicate: doesn’t work
                2nd duplicate: works
                3rd duplicate: doesn’t work
                4th duplicate: works

                Adding another Resource again shifts them all opposite yet again. Back and forth as I add new Resources.

                  I still haven’t been able to resolve this so I set up a new 2.0.7 install on a different domain and manually re-wrote the resource hierarchy. The exact same issue on the exact same resources started happening.

                  I’m wondering if it’s related to an ampersand (&) that I’m using in the resource name? Of course I’m not using the "&" in the alias. Will try again on another domain to see if the "&" causes the issue in a different hierarchy structure and report back.

                      If any of the modx developers are checking out this thread, or if anyone else can verify these results on their own clean install, I would appreciate it.

                      The FURL problem doesn’t have to do with the "&" sign. It seems that when creating two resources with the 2nd resource’s name sharing the first word, or first set of words, with the previous resource of the same directory, and where both resources are at least 3 levels down in the directory hierarchy, this problem occurs every time. I know I’m not describing this well so I’ve attached 4 images to visualize.

                      These were all clean installs with the db being completely dropped each time.

                      cass-modx1.jpg: The FURL works fine for "Why & One More" (alias: why-one-more) however it does not work for "Why and One MoreTwo" (alias: why-one-more-two)
                      cass-modx2.jpg: The FURL works for "Two Three" (alias: two-three) but does not work for "Two Three Four" (alias: two-three-four)
                      cass-modx3.jpg: The FURL works for "Eight Nine" (alias: eight-nine) but does not work for "Eight Nine Ten" (alias: eight-nine-ten)
                      cass-modx4.jpg: This one is the simplest of them all. FURL works for "One" (alias: one), doesn’t work for "One Two" (alias: one-two)

                      It needs to be at least 3 levels into the hierarchy for the problem to occur from what I’ve seen. I’ve tried using the exact same as above but only 2 levels up and the problem doesn’t seem to occur for me.

                      Again, if anyone else can reproduce this on a clean install it’ll indicate a bug. The cass-modx4.jpg setup took me maybe 3-4 minutes to set up and test.
