It seemed a good time to migrate to revo from evo... maybe not...

I did two clean installs of revo, both times the manager pages refused to update/load properly in Firefox v3.6.11 and 3.6.12 (latest releases): revo manager required a Ctrl-R (reload page to display the content), otherwise just a blank page.

I opened revo manager in IE v8 without any problems (just checked to see if the pages would display correctly, nothing more.

Performance is disappointingly slow compared to evo. :-(

FYI, I am running Win 7, 64 bit, recent/latest PHP, Apache, MySQL, gigs of free disc space, 4GB RAM, Intel i3 CPU [email protected]... it is a fast machine (I know, not super fast, but if revo runs like a tired dog with sore feet on it, then something is wrong). Yes, I known, I’m not too quick either smiley.

Anyway, bug or compatibility problem... I know you guys are working hard on this release and we appreciate it... but, sorry to say performance, reliability and compatibility are BIG issues, more important than pretty GUIs and endless configuration settings.

TBH, I find the performance of Revolution to be much better overall, mostly because of all the things you can do without every reloading a page. There are big differences and the changes take getting used to, but sorry, you can’t just tell us performance and reliability are not being taken as seriously as pretty GUI’s in MOD Revolution, and frankly, that’s insulting to what we have provided thus far to the community for free. As for compatibility, compatibility with what exactly? Runs well on Fx, Chrome, and IE for me on multiple platforms...

I want to start this post by saying big thanks to all the modx team and community.

modx is fine for me, both EVO and Revo are great products.

Working with it for two months now, I must say Revo is more productive, even if some great addons exisiting in Evo are still missing, there are news almost everyday !
I must add I am a newbye php/html/css programmer and addons are saving me time !

Now said, can I kindly remind you the subject of this post is people experiencing strange problems with the drag and drop feature.

I am using Revo with success even if drag and drop is not working on my laptop, it is a complementary feature for me, not mandatory.
I would appreciate to have it working for me of course, and that is the reason I am posting on this thread.
If I can help, I can provide any information needed with pleasure.

        Philippe
