You need to make sure and run upgrade with you existing database in place. Restoring your database after installing new will not work.
That said, sounds like you may have simply needed to clear your browser cache TBH. Some of the old Javascript may have been cached in your browser and obviously would not have functioned properly after the upgrade.

It may be an issue specific to Firefox. Can you try another browser? Also are you trying to drop onto a TinyMCE instance?

I have done more tests.
It does not works properly on my portable pc on Firefox, or safari, and I have not been able to do anything with IE9 (but I know it’s not supported yet).
My portable pc has a 1900*900 pixel size.
On the opposite, I have been able to make it works correctly on my desktop pc using firefox and IE8.
The screen is standard 1280*1024pixels.
Both machines are running windows 7 64 bits pro version.
I feel like it is related to the 16/9 screen.
Hope this helps

Is anyone else having the drag and drop problem in all browsers after updating to the newest version. I can fix it by restoring but once i log in the second time its broken again.
I have also lost drag and drop functionality in the
Resource and
Elements tree after upgrading to
MODx Revolution 2.0.4-pl2. I can pick resources up in the
Files tree but can’t drop them anywhere.
splittingred mentions that this feature is toggleable in 2.0.4 but I can’t find the setting.

[UPDATE]: Reinstalling the CMS corrected the issue. Something must have gone wrong during my first upgrade.
