    sure that i overwritten them, i mean, isn’t that how MODx upgrade is done?
    By unpacking new files over new ones and running setup?

      Hey Bob, i checked the config.core.php files as you said, i dont know if they’re ok, they all have identical content:

      <?php
      define('MODX_CORE_PATH', dirname(__FILE__) . '/core/');
      define('MODX_CONFIG_KEY', 'config');

      ..is that the way it supposed to be?

      Also, core/config/config.inc.php fiel seems to have all the data it should have, db uname, pass etc.. seems ok to me..

      Any suggestions?

          Those particular files should not have been in the package.

          But why do they emphasize in the upgrading guide not to overvrite these files, when these files are not included in the package?

          Does it mean that I have just to put the new files by ftp-uploading on my account which will automatically overwrite the old ones or do I have to carry out further steps?

            I think must of the people use their hosting account file manager to
            upload the MODx ZIP file and then extract the contents.

            When you extract the contents, it overwrites the files you have there,
            but only the files that are in the distribution, so if there are no
            config files, they will not be overwritten.

            You can do the same by hand, but it is a pain, and there is when the
            "do not overwrite (or erase) the config files" caution comes in handy.

              So you’re telling us that we shouldn’t use cPanel’s file manager to uplaod and extract files from archive and upload files by FTP, one by one?

              That sucks!

                nope, all the way around....
                use cPanel file manager, it is faster and does the job right.

                      If they all have exactly that content, that first line is definitely wrong for some of them. It’s saying that the core is directly below the current directory. That would be correct for the one in the modx root directory, but wrong for the rest. You could try hard-coding the actual path (e.g. on localhost: (’c:/xampp/htdocs/modx/core/’)
