Hi, I’m having problems with manager login on Internet Explorer (sorry for swearing!) but since it is quite possible that clients will be using this browser I would like to resolve the issue.
I can login to the Manager but as soon as the information displays on screen it goes to a 404 error page. I’ve tried flushing permissions, clearing the caches, clearing cookies and putting my .htaccess back to original (I have friendly URLs turned on and also rewrite to www.xxxx.com) but I’m still getting the same problem. I’ve also tried a reinstall of Modx v2.0.2.
This does not occur in any other browser! I don’t appear to get this problem when I login on my XAMPP localhost, it has only manifested on the live server.
The site works in every other way, its just the manager is not acccessible after login.
Suggestions???

Could you specify which version of dare I say IE you used.
It is known not to work with IE6 to my knowledge in the manager js problems.
DEVELOPMENT ENV:- Ubuntu 12.04 | MODx Revolution 2.2.8 | LAMP 2i Apache 2.2.22 | Php 5.3.10 | Mysql 5.5.31 MySQL client version: 5.5.31

I did a complete fresh install this afternoon with new download - and initially it looked as if the manager worked in IE8 but this was prior to adding any packages/plugins/snippets. Next move is to disable or possibly uninstall all packages and re-install one by one to see which one causes this problem.
Will report back in due course.
I have discovered that TinyMCE seems to cause a 500 internal error which enabled which prevents access to catergorised chunks. Disable the TinyMCE and you can then access the chunks, awaiting some sort of resolution to this problem too.....
Cheers

OK went through all my plugins and disabled - didn’t make any difference.
Then uninstalled everything I had downloaded and that didn’t work either.
Still have same issue. Can still access manager via Firefox but Internet Explorer forget it......
Just have to train new clients into the benefits of the Firefox browser until a resolution is made for this particular issue.
Its all good fun

Have checked at work which runs IE7 and can access manager quite happily with this browser. Still have issues with IE8 - anyone care to suggest what my problem may be...?
Thank you

For information I’m running a revolution site on a LAMP stack with:
PHP V 5.2.12
MySql 5.0.19
ExtJs 3.2.1
Smarty 2.6.19
PHPMailer 2.0.4
Have enquired with hosting company whether they would upgrade php to 5.3.1 but there are no plans at present. However, they have also checked with the Modx documentation and have confirmed that their version of server is ample to run Revolution - so what else could the problem be re IE8?

Is there anyone who can suggest what this problem might be? I’m going to be installing another Revolution site but I’d like to see if I can get a resolution to this problem, as inevitably some clients prefer IE
Thanks

Just for information I have another site on the same server making use of Revolution and I don’t have any problem accessing that one via IE8 - I really do not understand why I’ve got a problem with the other site.
Any suggestions? I have deleted and re-installed a fresh version of 2.0.3 but still have same problem! AAAAAAHHHHH

Hi, I had the same problem with a client’s website. The manager just didn’t work like it should be on his PC with IE8. It worked just fine on my PC with IE8.
He had Norton Security on his PC and I think this caused the problem but I didn’t want to uninstall the software because he paid for it and it wouldn’t affect the settings in the registry, so I just installed Firefox on his PC and now it works just fine.
I don’t think this is a problem in MODx, but more a bad configuration of the PC. Maybe a certain setting is blocking a certain url or port, I don’t know.
Don't believe anything you read on the net. Except this.
