Cannot Create Categories and Problem With Categories with Package Installs

I ran into the same problem on a Revolution install. I tried reinstalling, etc, but the problem persisted. As a possible fix, I exported all of the tables from another Revo install (without the data, of course) to add the missing tables, and the problem appears to be fixed (I can add categories, and installed a few packages without incident). I’ve included the SQL in case anybody else runs into this problem and wants to try it. This won’t overwrite any existing tables, only replace the missing ones. The only thing you might have to change is the modx_ prefixes, but who changes that anyway

Thanks! That did the trick. I can now create and manage categories and package installs can do the same.

That’s odd. I have both tables in the traditional distribution, but not in the development or advanced distributions.

Which version are those of you who had the missing tables using?

I have rev7212 which I downloaded from http://modxcms.com/download/ using the normal download.

Yes, but on the page that link points to, you can download either the Traditional version of the Advanced version. Do you know which you did? The rev numbers are the same for both.

Traditional.

I filed this as a bug and it’s now fixed in the development version.
