Problems installing modx2.0.0pl

Hi, I face many problems while installing modx2.0.0pl. I found on this thread http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,42119.0.html that mysqlnd client is not supported by Revo beta 4. Does this hold for modx2.0.0pl?

OS: Windows Vista
Apache/2.2.15 (Win32) PHP/5.3.2
mysqlnd 5.0.7-dev - 091210 - $Revision: 294543 $
Client API version mysqlnd 5.0.7-dev - 091210 - $Revision: 294543 $
php_pdo_mysql.dll extension is installed.

Nope. It works fine with mysqlnd. Make sure your pdo_myql.default_socket is configured properly.

The situation is like this:
If we leave pdo_mysql.default_socket blank, we get this error:
[2010-07-31 23:50:08] (ERROR in xPDO::connect @ E:\EasyPHP-5.3.2i\www\modx-200pl\core\xpdo\xpdo.class.php : 305) could not find driver

If we set pdo_mysql.default_socket=/tmp/mysql.sock (as mysql.ini)
then onclick of "Test database server connection and view collations" url, nothing at all happens.
Moreover, the buttons "Next" & "Create or test selection of your database" are not displayed.

Definitely sounds like problems with your PDO configuration still. Are you sure that is the actual location of the socket file?

This is the line from my.ini:
socket = /tmp/mysql.sock

Directory /tmp exists but it is empty.
Should the file mysql.sock be already there?

If that’s where MySQL is configured to create the socket file. Otherwise, it needs to point at the actual location of the socket file.

Could you give more specific instructions on how to proceed? Don’t know how to solve the problem with the socket.

Edit php.ini file and make sure mysql.sock directive are same as in mysql.ini file.

My experience, I just edited php.ini file as follow
from
.. = /var/msql/mysql.sock or .. = /tmp/mysql/mysql.sock

to
.. = /tmp/mysql.sock

beware of this simple difference....

I’m also struggling to install modx and am also receiving the error messages:

I’ve done my best to implement the suggestions from this post. My php.ini file contains the lines

mysqli.default_socket = /tmp/mysql.sock and
mysql.default_socket = /tmp/mysql.sock

And mysql.sock does exist in /tmp

Strangely, I don’t appear to have a mysql.ini file. sudo find / -name "mysql.ini*" and sudo find / -name "my.ini*" both returned nothing but:
find: /dev/fd/3: Not a directory
find: /dev/fd/4: Not a directory

Might this be part of the problem? I’m also new to MySQL so I’m not 100% sure that I’ve filled the fields in correctly, although they look pretty good. Finally, my phpinfo() informs me that it is configured ’--with-pdo-mysql=mysqlnd’, however I can’t find any reference to a pdo_mysql.default_socket anywhere in my php.ini.

At a bit of a loss. Any help will be very much appreciated.

PHP: 5.3.1
MySQL: client version mysqlnd 5.0.5-dev
Browser: Firefox 3.6.8

If I’m using any opcode caching I don’t know about it (or what it is). I don’t appear to have a core/cache/logs/error.log

That error looks like you don’t have the PHP PDO MySQL drivers installed or enabled.
