2 differents menu

I presume this is revolution you are using, if so make sure you have the TV assigned to the template and you have selected the menu to display from the dropdown under the TV tab

If you’re looking for a front end solution, I don’t think a TV is going to help much.

Maybe you could start looking into URL parameters (near the bottom of this page):

http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/Resource

Your URLs could look something like this:

site.com/mypage.html?menu=menu1

And your code would have to grab the menu parameter ($_GET) to keep passing the right parameter and to create the right menu.

There’s probably an easier way. The URL parameters was something I looked at right before seeing your post.

I’m not saying that a TV won’t work great for a back end solution. He’s just saying that he needs a front end solution.

An easy way might be to have the links log the visitors in as anonymous web users and then have your template code display the menu based on the user, just check [[+modx.user.username]].

I like this solution, I need a Front End solution....

If I manage the page parameters, do you confirm me that all pages of my portal will have this parameter in link?

I need to set the menu to use in a start page and then, use this parameter in all pages

In my portale I’ve :

Menu 1
Menu 2
Common Menu

Menu 1 and Menu 2 is set from a start page (and contain informations about the products type selected)
Common Menu is a standard menu (about, contacts, ....)


In manager area I’ve created my menues

Menu 1 (father) with all items (documents/pasge)
Menu 2 (father) with all items (documents/pages)
Common menu (father) with all items (about document, contacts document....)


In my tempalte I’ve

Common Menu on the left side
Menu 1 OR Menu 2 on top area


I’ve create a start page with 2 links: link to CMS with Menu1+Common Menu, link to CMS with Menu2+Common Menu

Can you help me for find the best solution for this?
