Revolution 2.0.0 RC-1 and XAMP 1.7.3 on Windows 7

Hi All,

I successfully installed and run MODx 1.0.3 on XAMP 1.7.3 with Windows 7. Today I tried MODx 2.0.0 RC-1. The installation process went smoothly, everything was green. But when trying to log in (manager), nothing happens at all.

Any hints?

Thanx. I checked all the tips but I seem to have everything configured correctly => still a white screen :’(

Is your core/cache directory writable? Verify that it is, empty it, and try again.

yes, it is. Clearing the cache did not help.

Then I tried a fresh, clean install again. Here is the log that Revolution gave me:

Maybe I am using a wrong version of MySQL.

I found the troubleshooting hint:
Make sure you are using MySQL 4.1.20, but not any iteration of MySQL 5.0.51.

XAMPP ships with MySQL 5.1.41, could that be an issue?

No, it wouldnt be. Are you running eAccelerator? APC?

What browser/OS are you on?

Are there any relevant errors in core/cache/logs/error.log?

I tested on Windows 7 32bit, Firefox 3.6 and IE 8.
I disabled eAccelarator, but did not touch APC:

Found the solution. The error log gave me a hint: I am behind a company firewall...

After connecting my installation directly to the Internet, everything worked fine!!!

Probably it would be an improvement to display a hint what to do when installing MODx Revolution behind a firewall.

You can turn off the RSS newsfeeds by setting the ’feed_modx_news_enabled’ and ’feed_modx_security_enabled’ settings to ’No’.
