Package not found

There’s this in the error log:

(ERROR @ /modx-20/connectors/workspace/packages.php) Could not transfer package getresources-1.0.0-ga.transport.zip to /modx-20/core/packages/.
[2010-05-17 08:42:00] (ERROR @ /modx-20/connectors/workspace/packages.php) Target directory is either not a directory or writable: /modx-20/core/packages/

However, it is a directory and set to 777 . . .

And Package Install has worked in the past . . .

PHP: 5.2.11

MySQL: 5.0.45

Apache: Apache/2.2.14 (EL)

eAccelerator not enabled

Browser: Safari, FireFox on a Mac

Try setting it to 755.

Nope . . . that doesn’t help . . .

Is this your actual absolute path from the root of the file system:

/modx-20/core/packages/

???

If not that is the problem. Did you by chance change the Default MODx Workspace path in the modx_workspaces table?

Yes, that’s the path. And the default MODx workspace is set to: /modx-20/core/

Fortunately, I was able to fixed this by upgrading.

Interestingly, when I did, it complained that core/packages was not writable - I had set it to 755.

I set it to 777, it deemed the directory writable, and finished the upgrade. And now I can retrieve and Install packages.
