beta4 new install fail

so I’m having white screen of death on the install process with beta 4 both advanced and ’normal’ downloads.

PHP memory is 128Mb and max time is 120 seconds.

Server configurations is:
MySQL :5.0.81-community
Apache: 2.0.63
PHP: 5.2.8

running on a brand spanking new CentOS 5.3 VM.

Help advice hints or tips would be appreciated.

Have you checked your server logs and the MODx install logs for any errors? Also my stock CentOS 5.3 box has the following on it :-

MYSQL Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.77
PHP 5.1.6
Apache - httpd-2.2.3-22

which is quite different to what you seem to have.

Increase your PHP memory_limit to 128M.

@splittingred, limit is already 128M

Try redownloading the MODx Revolution beta4 zip entirely and reinstalling.

So I’ve redownloaded beta-4 cleaned out the old install, uploaded, rebooted and still the same problem.
Something I forgot to mention earlier on is that I’m running cpanel on this VM also.

to throw a spanner in the works this is a beta-4 issue. beta 3 installs fine. Give me sometime to find where cPanel puts the php error logs(any hints here) and I’ll log a JIRA ticker

Same Problem here on my server:

MySQL: 5.0.26
Apache: Apache 2.2.3 (Linux/SUSE)
PHP: 5.1.2

Revo Beta 3 installed fine. Any suggestions?
And where can I find the Revo install log files?

Hi,

Same Problem on my machine:

- Debian Etch
- MySQL 5.0.32-Debian_7etch6-log
- PHP 5.2.0-8+etch15
- Mem & Timeout Linit set correctly

After i’ve clicked on "Install" (DB connection works), i see a blank screen.
- Testes with IE & FF (so it wouldn’t be a JS Error).
- Tried to install it two times
- Also set all files and directories to 777 to try, also owner of all files & dirs changed to www-data
- No entries in the error log, director /cache/log doesn’t exist

Would be great if someone has an idea, it looks like this is a problem which occurs on many different configurations.
