It appears as though the problem is solved by installing ModX directly to web root instead of to a subfolder. Thanks so much for your help!
I’d still love to figure out why there was a problem in the subfolder. If you get a chance and wouldn’t mind sharing some more details of how the domain/webserver is configured, it would certainly be helpful.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I called 1and1 tech support to see if they could give me some more info on how the domain/webserver is configured but I got some guy in India who only knew how to read from a script and he had no clue. With 1and1 tech support doesn’t actually have access to servers - pretty pathetic. I’d be happy to give you any info I can, but I would need specific instructions on how to get the server configuration details you were requesting.
I don’t know if this is helpful at all, but here’s a link to an image that contains a snapshot of the directory structure.
http://www.3eimpact.net/directorystructure_1and1.PNG.
The new install that contains the working directory is modx-2.0.0-beta in the root directory and is accesible via
admin.3eimpact.com. Right now it just has one page because I haven’t transferred the rest of the site over yet. The 3eimpact folder has the old non-modx site accessible via
http://www.3eimpact.net/. The current ModX site (which has the login issue) is located in the 3eimpact folder also. It is in the modx-2.0.0-beta folder. This folder is accesible via
http://www.3eimpact.com or
www.3eimpact.org. Here’s a snapshot of the 3e folder
http://www.3eimpact.net/directorystructure3e_1and1.PNG (some files were cut-off, but they are just .php and .html files).
The htaccess file in the 3eimpact folder contains only two lines of code:
AddType text/x-component .htc
AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
I tried logging in with the htaccess disabled (renamed to "htaccess" with no "." but no luck,
I’m guessing most of this info isn’t terribly helpful - I just don’t how to get Apache configuration you were requesting.
Thanks! Matt
