    [good news...]
Thanks Jason, I was able to successfully fire off the upgrade, after uploading the setup directory again.

    [bad news...]
    Same error as before:
    Server Error

The page you are looking for cannot be displayed because an invalid method (HTTP verb) was used to attempt access.

Making progress maybe... my host tells me there are two accounts that I need to be sure that have permissions.
This I did not know. Before there was only the one account to be sure it had full permissions.
In checking so far no permissions were set for this other second account.
This might make all the difference.
Now I’m thinking reinstall, I could try upgrading once again, any suggestions?
Trying the upgrade is relatively painless, once I get all my permissions checked out again.
Failing that reinstall just might do the trickitty-trick.

      • Another thing to consider is that often sites configured to use CGI and suexec script execution require 755 and 644 permissions for directories and files, and having anything set to 777 or 666 will cause an error. Since those latter permissions are necessary for non-suexec function of some scripts, some of your files and directories would have needed those permissions (such as the cache files and directory).
