modxcms.tv, video tutorial site for modx.. need help

I just registered the domain "modxcms.tv", my idea is to create a video tutorial site for modx.

I can use help with everything: creating the site, videos, marketing... So are there people here who want to help me with creating the concept and the site? I think that a good structured video tutorial site is a great marketing boost for modx

For what it’s worth, the new modx site will have a section dedicated to screencasts. We’d love help generating content for it, too.

Maybe we could use modxcms.tv to already create videos and link to videos that are already on youtube.

Is there already a idea about how to create the video’s? We could start to create video’s if we set up a standard for creating the video’s.

Does someone have idea’s about what software to use to record everything?

I’ve been planning it but I have recently jumped platforms from Windows to Mac as my primary dev box and I think as long as we have a presentation standard (for team produced vids and screencasts) that it shouldn’t matter what they are made in. CamStudio for Windows is nice and I have a couple I am trying on Leopard. I think we need to go for whatever will give the most legibility of text for screencasts and IMHO that is not Quicktime played video. It doesn’t scale and doesn’t always work well. I’m open to suggestions but the more open a format the better.

For screencast on Mac I used SnapzProX but thanks to Mark (as in Ditto’s Mark) I have discovered iShowU and it’s really great

I’d love to help add some french screencast but I am afraid my spoken english is not as good as my written english thus english wouldn’t be a very good idea

You could always write your script, then just read it; some of us find a French accent very ...um... interesting

Video’s that I create will just have subtitles, my english speaking doesn’t sound good

I am thinking about how to host the videos, I don’t make profit on it so I think I will use youtube for the hosting of the video’s. That way we also get promotion on youtube, what we already do... there are some modx videos online there!

I will try to create a sitemap this or next week so that we can discuss the structure here. I think I will create a site in english, but make it able to post movies in different languages. Or does someone have a better idea? I don’t have experience with multilangual sites

I tried it once in mime but gave up, now I am using puppets.
