SMF Update

Shouldn’t we update the forums to SMF 1.1.2?

All--

I recall seeing a thread in the forums regarding implementing SMF within MODx (or should I say, MODx API within SMF)...I apologize I do not have the time to search/review it at the moment...

However, can anyone with SMF/MODx mash-up experience comment on anticipated hiccups (if any) when upgrading 3rd party software like SMF? (MODx wrapped)

It is my vague understanding that it could be almost seamless (templating, etc, aside) ...am I mistaken?

Primary reason for my curiosity is that I have ONE remaining site (*cough* Joomla *cough*) that I am dying to get into MODx, but the SMF integration has me skeptical, mainly because upgrading within the Joomla site has been a major headache (The reason we’re still running Joomla 1.0.7 and SMF RC1 )

On the upgrade note, what would everyone think of having a separate RSS feed that had code blocks stripped or at least double encoded that way the forum feed would not break every time someone posts invalid code....

Hmmm... how would one tie the two together?

e.g.

Rss feed 1 (no code) and associated Rss feed 2 (the code) ??

@splittingred: Your joking right? If not, I was speaking literally that if someone posts some code that makes the RSS feed invalid (say without [ code ] tags, the RSS feed is no-longer correctly formed, and the feed is useless.

Totally joking. Heh....

I own the domain feedfed.com that I plan on using/creating unique RSS Feeds of, well RSS feeds, etc, etc...

If I ever take this anywhere, this could be an example of "tying the two together" as you would have One FeedFed Feed (lol) that contains two XML nodes pointing to the content feed, and associated code feed... Hmmm... has my brain thinking...
