I’m trying to stay focused on two issues: a real heavy-duty ecommerce module and a new and improved version of DocManager. If I get sidetracked it will take me even longer to accomplish anything with these.

I’m looking forward to the docman Susan, and if it’s possible, you can use my chunk template library. I know it’s like adding another layer of complexity for you to revamping the docman, but you won’t regret it after you develop something on top of it. Currently I’m working on full fledge shopping cart system that will have its own database and admin interface, and it will be released as a snippet, considering the problem that the user need to go through in installing module. I tried as much as possible to compete with phpShop on Mambo Currently I’m working on cache library. What do you think about having cache library? I need this for shopping cart, and I will built it as a simple cache lib class, just like what I did with chunkTpl.

Wooww... I’m so far out of topic. Allrighty then, enough for the news.
PS: I have a lot of addition and important bug fix on chunkTpl v0.4, which I’m currently using and fixing for my shopping cart system. If somebody want it, I will release it tomorow.

Well, Wendy, I sure am interrested and many others will but, when you started this, did you know about ShopX ?!? I guess you did and wanted something with a dB and admin... Hope you didn’t reinvent the wheel there

Yeap, I did check them out, with the other shopping cart system that soomebody built, and he did mentioned it on the shopx thread as well. It’s a nice one, simple and easy to be used, but I want something a little bit more advanced and more independen from MODx. If it’s using a different database, it can later be exported to a different system or backed up without being mixed up with other document pages data. Anyway, not to discuss off topic info here, I will update you guys about the development process later.

I started work on it last night and have the basic interaction *nearly* sorted out. I’m going for two ways of being able to specify documents for the templates to be changed.

One is a checkbox list (running on a modified MakeMap function from DropMenu) and the other will be a text box where certain ranges can be specified. For example, ’1,2-15’ would mean change the selected template for documents 1 and 2 through 15.

I’m going to be working on this over the weekend, so hopefully, will be available to all very soon
