Yeah...hate to admit it but Microsoft may have something there. We could do something similar that would enable us to have context-sensitive options appear...even so far as to have menu drop-downs for certain items. Being that the submenu of any tab would be its own div, it sure would break open the menu possibilities instead of being stuck in one paradigm.

modActionButtons.js will eventually handle that. I’m going to make a detailed code analysis post today about modActionButtons.class.js and explain how things work in it, which should help people adjust to 097 a bit easier.

The Profile menu is a little idea I had. Right now it just takes you to the Messages page, but one thing I’ve noticed people needing is an ability to edit their personal information (and eventually manager settings) outside of the Security->Users page (since we dont want everyone having access to that section).

This is a way to do that. You can only edit your profile and settings there - no one else’s. And it’s much simplified, with statistics, favorites, messages and such.

Of course, this is still just in my head. More to come in reality, I promise.

It sounds good to me. I think that the message system needs to be revindicated a bit in future releases, since it’s gotten steadily less visible over time. I would love it if I could create tutorials for all site admins (or any other group or individual users) that I could paste into this system and have a mini-wiki (without the collaborative revision) that they can consult whenever they need it.
