    Hi I am entering a custom command into filezilla these are the instructions,

    Enter this command:”chmod *** DIR“; where “***” is the numerical value of the required FPs and “DIR” is the location of the file to be modified. “chmod” stands for “Change Mode”

    This is what I am entering,

    chmod777/modx-1.0.4/assets/cache

    change mode 777 modx-1.0.4/assets/cache

    what am I doing wrong here embarrassed

        1. There needs to be spaces between the parameters:
        chmod 777 path/to/item

        2. It probably needs a full path, like /home/domain.com/public_html/assets/cache

          Hi I installed everything, however, after installation I got this message and a list that followed is this a normal process or will I need these files/tables;

          MODx setup couldn’t install/alter some tables inside the selected database.

            Does your database user have create and alter permissions on the database?

              Hi Susan thanks for all your help I have been given instructions by my hosting staff as to how to get into create and alter permissions once I am there is there anything inparticular you need me to look at and change?

              When I went into the process in my data base management it gave me some options;

              Privilege name Current status
              grant
              lock tables
              drop
              create routine
              create temporary tables
              update
              create
              alter
              index
              execute
              select
              alter routine
              show view
              references
              insert
              delete
              create view

              There is a button across from all of these should I select them all?

              Thanks

                I always do (select them all, that is). You might want to de-select "grant", though, since MODx certainly doesn’t need to grant permissions to other users.
