Some explanations about some params
&selectTV = list of TVs included in the search form
&dittoName = ditto snippet name

Placeholders for search form and result listing

Some settings can be overwritten in an &extraChunk
Syntax => tv_name::property_name==property_value

typeBien::question==Quel type de bien recherchez vous: ::filter==1
typeVente::filter==7::question==Vous recherchez un bien
secteurImmo::filter==7::question==Choisissez un secteur

this version uses ditto 2.0
I had to tweak a little bit some of the code but nothing important and doesn’t affect the snippet usage.

Umm, I guess I can’t understand what is "tvExplorer" for? same for "tvEditor"... Can you please elaborate on it a bit?

Here is a post in which there are the full features of both tveditor and tvExplorer.

tvEditor allows you to edit TVs options without writing the MODx syntax (==|| )
When an existing option value is updated all documents with this value for this TV are updated accordingly.
It also offers the ability to sort the tv options value.

tvExplorer create forms for searching on several Tvs, it renders automatically tv Type and options
Fillters are written on the fly and passed to ditto.

It’s something like advanced search on TVs.

the only matters is that it cannot search through document object properties.
For now most of tv type are managed except (files, images, date, numbers, textarea)

Let’s take an example: http://dixsix.fr/explorer/

TV1: Appellation (checkbox)
options values: Bordeaux, Côtes du Rhône, Bourgogne, Chateauneuf du pape

TV2: Couleur (listbox-Multiple)
options values: Rouge, Rosé, Blanc.

TV3: Categorie(select)
options values: Vin de Pays, Vin AOC, Grand crû.


If we are seraching wines with ChateauNeuf du Pape (AND) Rouge,(AND) Grand crû

Filters will be:
F1 : &filter:tvAppellation,ChateauNeuf du Pape,7|tvCouleur,Rouge,7|&Categorie,Grand crû,7
ou
F2 :&filter:tvAppellation,ChateauNeuf du Pape,1|tvCouleur,Rouge,1|&Categorie,Grand crû,1
in both case tagMode is "onlyTags"

Now we’d like to go further and search the wines:
ChateauNeuf du Pape OR Bourgogne (AND) Rouge OR Rosé (AND) Grand crû
Filters F1 et F2 won’t produce satisfying results
we’ll get wines from ChateauNeuf du Pape OR Bourgogne (OR) Rouge OU Rosé (AND) Grand crû
we find in the results listings :
bordeaux rouges grands crus,  bordeaux rosés grands crus, Côtes du Rhône rosés grands crus et Côtes du Rhône rouges grands crus althought we were seraching only ChateauNeuf du pape OR Bourgogne.


tvExplorer  will produce additionnal filters to insure a better results list.
To do so we will exclude from listings documents which have among their Tv values one of the unselected options

So filters will be
F1 : &filter:tvAppellation,ChateauNeuf du Pape,7|tvAppellation,Bourgogne,7|tvCouleur,Rouge,7|tvCouleur,Rosé,7|Categorie,Grand crû,7

OR

F2 : &filter:tvAppellation,ChateauNeuf du Pape,1|tvAppellation,Bourgogne,1|tvCouleur,Rouge,1|tvCouleur,Rosé,1|Categorie,Grand crû,1

+ filters tvExplorer
=> tvAppellation,Côtes du Rhone,2|tvAppellation,Bordeaux,2|tvCouleur,Blanc,2|Categorie,Vin AOC,2|Categorie,Vin de Pays,2|

we obtain the expected result:
Bourgogne wines OR Chateauneuf du pape AND Rouge OR Rosé AND Grand Crû

Is the tvExplorer available for download somewhere?

Hi doze,

Not yet it’s still alpha and requires ditto 2 for better performance.
It’s based on tveditor classes so I need to update the installation process of the module to insert in db the tvexplorer chunks.

I ’m currently working on it to fix small bugs.
I hope releasing a first internal beta tomorrow.

tvExplorer now supports @BINDINGS

I should release the new version of both tveditor and tvexplorer in a few days.
