True, but it’s still alot better than nothing.. almost all of his resources have 100-300 download count so they are used, but I’m not saying it could not be better.. many of the resources have actually spanish GUI even though the description would be english.. but I think that the ones that find his tools usefull (mostly ways to make things faster and easier for developers) can edit the snippet/plugins/modules them self. Only if people would share those edited versions like Ronald had done with newsmanager..

From what I can tell, I think the bulk of what remains is:

[*] ~~Implementing Ditto~~ 1.1 beta (I think we should use that for now) ~~instead of Newslisting~~ 1.0.2 done...
[*] ~~Converting all forms to eForm~~ 404 form removed, and Contact Form done.
[*] ~~Fix icons in Light manager~~ and some additional cleanups there (plus any other cleanups in Green needed due to recent frames + actions cleanups); validate CSS as best possible
[*] ~~Jot to replace UserComments (should be coming by the weekend)~~
[*] ~~Categorize resources~~
[*] Translation updates

Am I missing anything major? I think it makes sense to also potentially consider adding a few "power user" snippets to the mix for grins. What about also distributing Susan’s simple page counter module for example... that makes sense to me.

The only major outstanding issue with the default content is missing Ditto 1.1. Mark, could you please provide us an update on where it stands and if you’re not going to be able to commit to wrapping it up immediately, please let us know what issues are outstanding so we can make alternate arrangements to see it to fruition. Your school clearly needs to come first.

I’ve updated the newslisting instance to ditto 1.0.2.

The show/hide comments thing blows out the bottom footer /layout... can anyone fix that or should we remove that as it’s really just semi-fluffy stuff.

All comments need to be converted to Jot, too, and the Jot styles should be updated to match the current Usercoments styles.

Forms still need to be converted to eForm.

I’d like to get a final beta out today... can anyone take on some content cleanups?

Contact Form is done. 404 Form is removed. eForm is cool.

Ditto call for 1.0.2 replaces newslisting and some of the basics are now removed (older no longer used snippets).

Can you folks take a double-look-see at what’s at modx.it and let me know what’s ailing it?

Wow. That’s a whole lot of changes since I last saw it.

Some older user comments were showing up in the Blog as entries; I’ve deleted them and all is fine.
I’ve also deleted the old blog entry about comments, because it’s now out of date.

"News:" on the right doesn’t have any news, I’m looking at that now.

No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

Things we might remove (I vote we do):
[*] DateTime – because most computers have a clock
[*] PoweredBy – because we just should
[*] ListRelated – because we just should, and tag-like tools are better with TVs and whatnot I think... certainly not a "must have snippet"

Things we might update/add before the final release:
[*] NewsManager – edit/delete posts from the front end
[*] ~~WebUser Signup Notification – get an admin email when a webuser is created~~ not really needed (future "content pack" candidate)
[*] Web Edit Profile – modify your own webuser profile from the front end (including password)
[*] UltimateParent – a few fixes and a tiny bit more of added flexibility
[*] Custom Alias – MUCH improved auto-alias logic (should probably move from plugin to the core really)
[*] News Publisher + TVs – set TVs at the same time as creating docs (requires core code hack which could be integrated)
[*] Stats plugins or modules – Google Analytics and/or Susan’s Basic Page Counter Module

I’ll come to Ryan’s bullet points in a moment, first an update:

I’ve switched the Newslisting call in the templates to Ditto, and tweaked the template that uses.

I’ve tidied up the text to remove the notes aimed at the rest of the team (like "More information needed here") and it should now be ready to go.

I’ve also added publication dates to selected articles to make the "Most Recent" list a bit more interesting and to make it look like a newer release (previous dates were April).

If people could look at the content of http://www.modx.it/features/extendable.html to see what needs to be added or removed from the actual text based on the additional features used on modx.it, we can make sure this is right.

Oh, and I clicked on the "Valid XHTML" link, and it said:

The character encoding specified in the HTTP header (utf-8) is different from the value in the <meta> element (iso-8859-1). I will use the value from the HTTP header (utf-8) for this validation.

The CSS checker is unhappy with some entity name somewhere. Even looking at the source without QuickEdit, I can’t match up where it reckons the problem is.

I don’t think we can go to plastic on this until both these validators are 100% happy. (Well, personally I’d rather the validator links weren’t there, but if they are there we need to make sure they lead to happy pages.

The header issue is likely because the ’Content-Type’ meta-tag in the template is saying ’iso-8859-1’ and I bet if you check the MODx system configuration the page is being sent with a PHP header of ’utf-8’. (I haven’t looked yet but that is my first guess)

BTW, great work to everyone who’s been working on this default content - you’ve done a fine job grin
