After some further discussion with Ryan about the types vs tags, I have to agree. We really don’t need these to be separate items. From an end-user standpoint it really doesn’t matter. And the icons do attract your eyes more than they should.

Further simplification for the links Menu:

Add core audited and featured to the pop-up list... make the first item "Filter view by:" so they’ll know what it is. Make the first option "View All".

Loose the types per the previous discussion (the colored icon boxes).

Basically, the Links Menu (which should be just "Resources"):

      [ View Filter Select-List Navigator ]
Add a New Resource (button graphic needed!) if logged in
Resource Search Box... Ajax Search would be schwanky

Love the cleanup Kyle and Garry ... the more simple structure is just fantastic and more usable. Now that I see it though I am afraid that I think I’d prefer the chunks/snippets/etc. tags removed in general, as it just seems to clutter the useful information! I’d like to see them reflected on the detail page though I think. Maybe leave "core distribution" though as that’s a bit more "special".

I do think we need a minimum requirements/required version though as the next release will have some new snippets that take advantage of new API functions.

Once again great work, I have just browsed the repository it’s looking even greater grin ! You find the information fast and easy, which is always tricky with this kind of "info-packed" pages...

I am so eager to hear MODx user’s reaction to this (it’s a little bit like before a MODx release)... will problably boost the community’s contribs as well as the number of users.

I agree with Ryan on the last bit, have tags displayed only on detail page is a better option from a user standpoint...

I have seen you’ve started adding resources to the repository.
How will you proceed ? Add your own code and then ask each author to add their own ?

Or do we add everything that’s in the current forum thread ?
                If you need help...

David, we want the authors to add their own code if they are still around. So once we make it public we will put out a notice for people to add their code. If the person who created it doesn’t add it, then anyone who wants can add it in.

I would like for the team members to get some of there actual code items in so we can see how things look with actual items in the repository. So if anyone on the team wants to take a few minutes and add their code that would be great.

                  Thanks,
                  Kyle
